Grandma´s Applepie
Grandmas Applepie was founded in 1988 by Andi Otte (git, voc), Andi Mayer (dr) and me (git, akk, voc). Due to a lack of musical skills, we started with a kind of garage punk. Reinforced by Dirk Frauenschuh (bass), Ela Sumser (vocals, flute) and Heike Schwörer (violin), our style finally developed in the direction of folk rock.
At the turn of the millennium, the show was unfortunately over because life is not all about music. We are gradually posting all sorts of things on our YouTube channel for you to refresh the memories: Link to our Youtube channel

We never stopped jamming together over the years and that's how the idea for our 35th anniversary came up to record our first super hit that never has been published before: Forklift Trucker
Why now? After three years of playing the song over and over again at many concerts, we just couldn't listen to it anymore - sorry for that! Only with increasing age (and wisdom) came the realization that we should correct this mistake and give this musical pearl a worthy place in our coming to terms with the past. Enjoy !
Forklift Trucker
Which you old pogo heads could never get enough of! About a holiday job that was really fun.

Take 4 Eggs ... was recorded as the first CD in 1994. A visit to the studio was out of the question for those on a tight student budget. So we decided to do the recordings ourselves. The album was recorded under adventurous circumstances in student rooms, a cowshed, a garage, the rehearsal room and a holiday apartment. The equipment was extremely minimalistic (1 computer, 1 effects device, 1 DAT recorder and 1 microphone). Unfortunately, you can hear that in the poor quality. It was a truly independent production, however, and the result is a historical document that still shows today, how much fun we were recording it. We made 500 CDs, all of which sold out quickly.

Be the way you are and don´t be afraid of it.

Masquerade was released in 1995. The album contains the newer songs and was also recorded under our own direction. In terms of sound technology, much better devices have been used and one or the other sound effect can be heard. Unfortunately, our band split up shortly after their release (... well, I'm going to Timbuktu to study ...), so I still have a few CDs (with the original cover with "Shot Hole") in my basement. If you are interested, please contact me by email (see below ...)
